Restore show transaction links to the way it worked originally
From the North East Dentrix Users Group
Almost universally, clinics miss the functionality of “show transaction links” and everyone wants it back. In response to this, the group discussed having an automatic “show transaction links” feature. When clicking on rows in the ledger with a procedure, or on a row with claim information like primary sent, primary received etc., all other procedures and claim data rows attached to it would highlight automatically. It was suggested that for performance reasons this might not always be wanted. Each user should therefore be able to set this feature to always be on, to… more

Allow the unscheduled treatment list to be sorted by ADA code so that we could search by procedures with no appointment.

When deleting a procedure that has a discount associated with it, the discount should automatically be deleted as well.
We have a multi-tiered sliding scale that gives patients varying levels of discounts depending on their income levels. Procedures are billed at UCR and the associated discount is automatically posted to the ledger based on the appropriate sliding scale level. Currently, when a procedure is deleted the associated discount is left on the ledger and needs to be manually deleted. The discount should automatically be deleted when the procedure is deleted.

Orthodontic enhancements to Enterprise
From the North East Dentrix Enterprise Users Group
Easily see the status of the patient: observation, retention, class 2, class 3 and see basic notes of case without scrolling to look for it
Improve orthodontic budgets
In addition to this it was noted that another filter option could be added to the chart to only show orthodontic procedures; D8XXX. The chart already has a bunch of check boxes to filter items, so this is seen as only a minor change to the software.
A couple of clinics suggested that using an add on feature of Dolphin Imaging called the “Orthodontic… more

Adjust security on seeing patients in Enterprise
From the North East Dentrix Enterprise Users Group
Restriction on patient views and edits to be more granular than only “by clinic”... by provider / staff
When you do not have the right to a patient (in a different clinic) should the fact that this patient is in the database be entirely hidden as it is now? Should the user at least know that patient exists in the db? New Patients can be duplicated if the staff does not know that the patient is in the db at a different clinic they cannot see.

Add new columns to the ledger to see adjustments and patient portion owed per line
From the North East Dentrix Users Group
· Add column(s) for aggregate payments, aggregate credits and balance remaining to each procedure row. Possibly add a column for any deductible owed.
· Users can choose what columns to have the ledger display from the proc_log table fields
· All columns, like amount, can be sorted by double clicking on the label of that column
· Users can hide certain information, like special adjustments, regular adjustments, primary payments, and secondary payments

Move the adjustments on the bills up from the bottom
From the North East Users Group
With line item accounting in place, it seems that the adjustment for an insurance payment on a treatment, or group of treatments, could be printed immediately under the insurance payment line. Right now, all of the insurance adjustments print at the bottom of the bill.

Security Right : Appointment book event
From the North East Users Group
There is a new feature in 6.0 that allows scheduling events in the appointment book such as the closing of an Operatory. We think there is already a security right to limit the staff that can change these events and if not then we should submit this as an enhancement request.

Changing History
The following discussion was left open for another meeting :: Do any clinics need the ability to change history? Is the invalidate flag enough? Can historical items be changed? In core there was a utility called dxhist.

Improve searching appointments
From the North East Dentrix Enterprise Users Group
Several clinics agreed that searching in the appointment book could be improved. Searching in the appointment book is done by clinic or view and operates over the operatories clicked off. Searching for appointment could be improved by:
· Allowing for a link between provider and operatory, such that searching for a provider, shows only open appointments in a particular operatory or group of operatories used by that specific provider.
· Allowing for searches that involve appointments across multiple clinics
· Allowing views to show operatories in different clinics
· Allowing for searches… more

Security Rights during upgrade
From the North East Dentrix Enterprise Users Group
Regarding security, a proposed enhancement request is to change how new security rights are handled during upgrades, so that each clinic can choose when and how to deal with security changes during an upgrade.
· Allow clinics to set new security rights as fully permissive or least permissive.
(This might help clinics in test mode because the first test upgrade could be done
in a fully permissive mode.)
· For new security rights allow clinics to set a default for all users of either on or off.
· Have a “group permissions”… more

Be able to print routing slips from a certain "to" and "from" time, rather than reprint the entire day, or one patient at a time.
Rather than having to print an entire day, or have to print slips one at a time, I'd like to suggest having the option to print routing slips by time blocks

Insurance Provider Write Off Analysis
GAAP audits require a reserve for outstanding insurance claims based on historical write off % of insurance claims. To support an audit, we need trial balance reports that go back in time for open insurance claims and we need to be able to measure the write off against the acutal claim. Exisiting solutions are either real time only reports or don't differentiate between the charge date and the write off period.

Add age/frequency limitations to the insurance
When entering the insurance information it would be helpful if Dentrix automatically calculated if the patient is eligible for a specific procedure based on age/frequency
